چکیده

Abstract Aim The aim of this study was to compare small dense low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (sd-LDL-c) and various lipid markers between patients exhibiting plaque rupture (PR) in the culprit lesions evaluated by optical coherence tomography (OCT) imaging those without PR ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients. Methods We studied consecutive 60 de novo with STEMI who underwent pre-intervention OCT. defined as a containing cavity that had overlying residual fibrous caps. Plasma sd-LDL-c measured directly homogeneous assay at time primary percutaneous coronary intervention. Results were classified into (n=40, 66.7%) or non-PR (n=20, 33.3%). There no significant differences (LDL-c), non-high-density (non-HDL-c) pre-admission statin therapy two groups (135.1±38.0 mg/dL vs 129.2±43.8 mg/dL; p=0.35, 157.1±37.4 143.0±37.7 p=0.24, 15.0% 20.0%; p=0.93). However, level significantly higher than (44.0±18.1 28.0±9.3 p=0.0005). On multiple logistic regression analysis, an independent predictor (odds ratio, 1.14 per 1 p=0.0063). Conclusion Sd-LDL-c associated lesion STEMI. Funding Acknowledgement Type funding sources: None.

Inflammatory Differences in Plaque Erosion and Rupture in Patients With ST‐Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction

BACKGROUND Plaque erosion causes 30% of ST-segment elevation myocardial infarctions, but the underlying cause is unknown. Inflammatory infiltrates are less abundant in erosion compared with rupture in autopsy studies. We hypothesized that erosion and rupture are associated with significant differences in intracoronary cytokines in vivo. METHODS AND RESULTS Forty ST-segment elevation myocardia...

Study of the Duration, Outcomes, and Related Factors of Reperfusion Therapy in Patients with ST-Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction

Background and Objective: One of the most important advancements regarding the care of patients with acute myocardial infarction is the administration of anti-coagulation medicines (e.g., streptokinase). However, it must be noticed that this medicine requires rapid and timely administration. Moreover, Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) is increasingly used as a method of revascularization...

Relation of Low‐Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol With Microvascular Injury and Clinical Outcome in Revascularized ST‐Elevation Myocardial Infarction

BACKGROUND Microvascular injury (MVI) after primary percutaneous coronary intervention for ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) is a major determinant of adverse clinical outcome. Experimental data indicate an impact of hypercholesterolemia on MVI; however, there is a lack of clinical studies confirming this relation. We aimed to investigate the association of cholesterol concentrations o...

ST-Segment Elevation in Acute Myocardial Infarction

Four hundred and four patients who were admitted to the hospital with their first myocardial infarction within 24 hours of the onset of symptoms were studied. In 315 patients the ECG findings in 12 standards leads (I, II, aVF, aVR, aVL, V,-V6) showed the infarction to be in the anterior wall, the inferior wall, or in multiple areas. The patients in each of these three categories were further su...

Atrial Fibrillation on Admission Is Related With Higher Mortality in ST-Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction Patients.

The prognostic significance of atrial fibrillation (AF) on mortality in ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients is not clearly understood. To elucidate the clinical significance of AF on mortality for 1 year in STEMI patients, we retrospectively analyzed the Korea Acute Myocardial Infarction Registry (KAMIR) database, which spans January 2008 to September 2010 and includes 1...
